#21. Go to a Blue Jays Game

One day, a friend from Toronto asked if I wanted to go to a game with some people from school. I said yes, and that is the story of how I crossed off #21.

At the "Roger's Centre" which will always actually be the "Skydome."  Stupid Roger's, I hate you so.

First off, they won! So that's good. Even if they hadn't though, it was still a really fun day. Hung out with some super people from school, I learned that the Houston Astro's are named after Astroturf, ate pizza and beer, got a free seat cushion from Parks Canada and a sweet tan.

While watching, I had a bit of a trip down memory lane. I used to play for an all-girls team when I was a kid. I was terrible, but it was mostly fun. We even won the championship - twice! I haven't played or followed baseball for a long time, but once I was at the game all the rules, positions, etc. starting coming back to me. And its always funner to go to sporting events where you actually understand the sport.

For some reason, at every sports event I watch, I have to choose a favorite player and then root for that player at every possible chance. Sometimes it is based on a certain talent - for example, when George Laraque was an enforcer on the Montreal Canadiens he had a knack for kicking everyones' ass, making him my favorite player.

Sometimes, I pick a favorite just because something about the player makes him somewhat more interesting than the rest - like Troy Polamalu and his hair commercials.

In this case, I just happened to like Yunel Escobar's name, because it sounds like a chocolate bar and I was hungry. I would totally eat an Escobar.

Get ur Escobar's!
