#46 Go to a Festival

This past weekend was the Sound of Music Festival in Burlington. Although this is a pretty well-established music festival in the area, I had never actually been before and I wasn't quite sure what to expect. Despite the name, I did not encounter any Austrian kittens in brown paper packages twirling around on mountaintops, but it was still a good old time.

but seriously, how cute would that be.

I went on Friday night with two friends T and M. There were several stages with live music, but none of us really knew any of the bands so mostly we just wandered around, looked at booths, got free stuff. Actually, I couldn't believe just how much free stuff we got. We didn't even need to eat dinner, because we were so full from all the free food samples and such:

♫  Bead necklace, popcorn and handy blue tote bags,

♫ Stickers and sausages, compostable bags,

Pretty pink popsicles and rainbow icecream

These are a few of my favorite free things!

So yep, free is awesome. All in all it was a really fun evening, with the possible exception that I parked at Mapleview Mall to avoid traffic issues, and we ended up having to walk from the lakefront up to the mall on the way out...it was a much longer walk than we expected, I think everyone's feet were hurting when we finally got to the car. But I guess we worked off all the free food.
