It’s Easter! I think for a lot of people,
this holiday just kind of gets lost – really, what is there to do, for a
non-religious grown-up with no kids at Easter? No more egg hunts, no more
bunnies, no more adorable little dresses and hats to wear to church, no more pastel
baskets full of sidewalk chalk and skip-it’s. There are no giant 7AM Easter
sales in stores, and it’s probably not the best holiday to celebrate by getting
wasted.

What to do? I like Easter, I like
Spring, but there aren’t any established traditions for someone like me. So...I’ll
just make my own.
Let’s start with some nostalgic Easter egg
decorating! I remember doing this a few times when I was little – you just need
bowls and these little tablets that smell like vinegar and then you have at it
with some boiled eggs.
I guess the art of Easter egg decorating
has evolved some (I’m talking North American version – I won’t even attempt
those crazy detailed European ones), and at Michael’s we have a big selection
of different styles to choose from – marbled eggs, rainbow eggs, ‘volcano’
eggs, glitter eggs, and – the best of all – GOLDEN EGGS.

I bought a pack, and last week I got together
with T and J to pimp out some eggs.
Didn’t QUITE turn out like the package...
But one of them morphed into Justin
Beib-egg, which for some might be an homage, and for others might be a great anger release as they get to crack Beib-egg's skull and eat his brains. Win win!
But hey, it was fun.
